SOLD: Beautiful blue-eyed registered paint mare

We are delighted that Lakota has found a wonderful match in her new partner, Mindi. Lakota will be going on mountain trails, with pack mule in tow, and also working cattle. She’s going to love it!

LUCKY LAKOTA BLUE is a 10-year-old, 15hh, registered paint mare. She was started using natural horsemanship methods on the ground and in the saddle as a 3-year-old and has been ridden off and on in the arena and on the trail since. She is currently in training, walking and trotting under saddle in the arena on a loose rein, and we just started cantering her under saddle.

About Lakota

Lakota is beautiful and curious, a left brain introvert who will meet you at the gate and who bonds well to her human and her horse herd. She is not spooky by nature and with more whoa than go she would be suited well for the trail and pleasure riding. She will do best being ridden with another horse on the trail. At this point in her training she does not have the confidence to go down the trail on her own. She would be best matched with an advanced beginner or an intermediate rider as she is still a bit green under saddle. She prefers a soft, assertive hand and does not respond well to force or rough treatment.

She has been barefoot and has had a full set of shoes depending on the terrain.  On the harder ground she is more comfortable with shoes on.
