Keep your horse tuned up this winter

I am offering a “winter maintenance” special to help keep your horse (and you!) in top form until spring. Your horse will stay mentally, emotionally, and physically fit through natural development methods. He will get two or three sessions per week with me, reinforcing his skills and learning new ones, without the pressure of daily training.

Some examples of what we can do, depending on your horse’s needs and your goals:

  • Trailer loading
  • Liberty skills
  • Lead by the leg, chin, tongue, ear, tail
  • Socialization with other horses
  • Desensitization around pigs, minis, donkeys, silos, flags, squeezes, etc.
  • Dressage/Finesse riding patterns (contact)
  • Freestyle riding patterns (loose rein)
  • Preparation for bridleless riding
  • And more….

Of course you can come to the ranch at any time to play with your horse. Our lighted, covered arena keeps you out of the dark, the rain, and the wind, so you can concentrate on your horse time rather than winter survival. The ranch is quiet and I keep things small so that you won’t have to fight with other riders for space. Or you can take advantage of the winter to focus on your own complementary development — yoga, Pilates, snowshoeing, skiing — knowing that your horse is not shivering head-down in a wet pasture with nothing to do. Board is reduced for horses in development, and I’m also offering a discounted lesson package you can add on.

For more information, see the Boarding, Training, and Lessons pages.

Winter Maintenance Rates

Two sessions per week: $450/month

Three sessions per week: $650/month

Reduced board: $300/month

Add on one private lesson per week: $360/month (save $40)

This special applies to horses that need maintenance, not colt-starting or addressing problems that require full-time development. Please call me to discuss your horse and your goals so I can recommend the best options for you.
